My M1 Finance Wolf Pie portfolio follows an investment strategy called Focus Investing. This term was coined by Robert G. Hagstrom, author of the book, The Warren Buffett Way.

Focus investing involves concentrating investments in a small number of companies (5 to 20) that the investor knows very well. The investor treats these stocks like businesses and takes a business-owner mindset.

With the business-owner mindset, the investor will hold these companies long-term even in market downturns.

I’ve been using M1 Finance since 2019. At the time of this writing, I hold 10 stocks in my Wolf Pie M1 Finance Portfolio. You can see my current holdings here.

I started this small portfolio to demonstrate to you, my readers, that it doesn’t take a lot of money to start investing. Another reason I’m investing small is that it isn’t a tax-advantaged account like a Roth IRA or 401(k). Most of my investments are in tax-advantaged accounts.

Therefore, I only invest $20 a week into this portfolio. If the stock market, measured by the S&P 500 goes into a bear market (20% decline from previous high), then I’ll double the investment to $40 a week.

This is a simple strategy. I hope you enjoy tracking my progress every month.
