In this video, I go over how to research Certificate of Deposits (CDs) on Fidelity, how to buy CDs using Fidelity desktop, and how to buy CDs using Fidelity mobile app. I also go over how to cancel an order and how to buy fractional CDs.
CDs are finally starting to become a decent place to park some cash. Over the past several years, a 1-year CD barely paid above 0%. Today a 1-year CD pays above 4%.
Fidelity offers what is called brokered CDs. This allows the investor to purchase FDIC insured CDs from several different banks. Brokered CDs are my preferred way to purchase CDs. As you can see from my video, it is very convenient to research and purchase brokered CDs from Fidelity.
